About the event

Thomas Green is a UK based Australian Stand Up Comedian and actor with an interesting plot twist: he’s a supply teacher in the UK.

Green is known for having a face of elasticity, a unique story-telling style and a highly energetic stage presence. He first ignited his comedy career in 2007 when he entered Triple J’s RAW Comedy Competition. Since, Green has performed in four shows at the Adelaide Fringe, beginning with ‘Village Idiots’ (2008), before going solo with ‘Youthful Annotations’ (2012), ‘Sign of the Times’ (2013), ‘Tomfoolery’ (2014) and ‘It’s Always Greener’ (2015). He saw success in each of his solo shows, having stellar reviews, sold-out crowds and a Fringe Award nominated (Best Emerging Comedy – 2013). He took his show to the Melbourne International Comedy Festival in both 2014 and 2015, again with sell-out crowds.

Green is not limited to the stage however, having hosted both breakfast and drive radio shows across 7 years on Fresh 92.7 in Adelaide, South Australia. During this time his show ’Tom and Shenay’ (later to be ‘Tom Green and Friends’) developed a following, with the popular segment ‘Teacher Tom’ becoming a fan favourite, and interviews with the likes of Zac Efron, John Jarratt and Tinie Tempah thrilled listenership. Green has also found himself in front of the camera, having landed roles on screen that have seen him work with the likes of actors David Wenham and Emily Watson (Oranges and Sunshine, 2009), director Greg McLean (Wolf Creek 2, 2013), and with music sensations Hilltop Hoods (2012) when he was cast as the male lead in their music video for hit single ‘Shredding the Balloon’. He has also been cast in numerous commercials, along with being cast in the ABC mini-series ‘Anzac Girls’ (2014) as ‘Captain Alcorn’. He has made a few appearances with the popular YouTubers RackaRacka, as Ned Stark/Boromir in 'Lord of the Rings vs Game of Thrones' (2014), 'Spoiler Rage' (2015), and as Daryl in 'The Walking Dead vs The Last of Us' (2015).

Now living and supply teaching in the UK, Green looks to take the stages by storm - as he prepares his new show “That’ll Teach You” for the Edinburgh Comedy Festival - with his endearing energy and latest material.
