JOHN ACHKAR: WEN 3AYISH?

John Achkar is a Lebanese stand-up comedian and entrepreneur who has recently attracted a lot of attention in the UAE and Lebanon through his content on tiktok and Instagram. His comedy tackles issues involving religion, race, and marriage. John starred in Stand-Up Baladi (2020), the first Lebanese stand-up comedy series in Arabic. He is known for his stand-up comedy specials “No Worries” (2020) and his current and most recent one, “Wen 3ayish?” (2022). He has toured Europe and the GCC "Wen 3ayish?" involves discussions about John's family, his upbringing, his religious and cultural background, his short-lived marriage, his divorce, and his new, somewhat opposing, perspective after move to Dubai.
